3/05/10

Hey you Locos,

Thanks for all the help with my Facebook! I have a crazy story for my Facebook and everyone. So, I was in a family home evening and I was sharing a message about the promises of the Book Of Mormon and we heard footsteps outside. So we looked out the door to see if anyone was there and no one was. We kept having our family home evening but then 3 minutes after we heard footsteps again. Then someone began knocking on the door so we opened it and a lady came up. Like I said earlier, they speak a different language here called Kichwa so after the lady was finished talking my comp and I were wondering "what did she say?" Ha! She said that there were robbers outside the door waiting for me and my comp to leave. My comp was a "smart one", while we were walking to the house he pulled out his camera and the thieves must have seen it and wanted it. So, afterward we called the whole neighborhood and they began searching for the robbers. About 100 people left to go search. The family told me and elder redwood that we had to stay and guard the house and the little kids! I ended up grabbing a huge knife type thing and sat outside and watched. They said that because I have blue eyes I can see in the dark better! Ha! So, I waited and watched. After about an hour the family knew that we needed to leave since it was 9:30 PM. We needed to get home so we were escorted down by 5 other guys, we flagged down a truck and they took us home. It was way legit! I took a vid. I will see if i can send it.

I felt like Dad when he would tell us his stories about ripping the sharks heart out and drinking the blood! Ha! I told all the little kids to be calm because my dad has killed man bears and he taught me how to fight. I told them that I would kill all the robbers! It was really funny! One of the little girls held on my leg until her Mom and Dad came back. It was sweet. Thanks Dad for teaching me how to rip hearts out! Ha!

QUESTION & ANSWER

Are you in the same area?
Yes, I am still in Pucara and San Roque in the Otavalo Zone.

Do you have the same companion?
Elder redwood, but we have changes this sunday so we will see.

Who are the people you are teaching?
I am teaching this one family named De La Torre. I love them! They call me Elder Cool. Ha!

In Kichwa what are their lives like?
They live like we do. For me its normal now. Most just make sweaters and stuff to sell here to gringos (white people).

This week was good. We got a lot done. We taught a lot of lessons too. The only thing that's not too good is that I am sick right now. We can't figure out what I have. I have a fever, cough, chills, and my head aches but who cares. The lord provides right? With the lord all is possible. I am going to email you a bunch of pics now, ok?
